Discovery Masters was founded in 2008 by Attorney Brian Mahany.  Brian has been practicing law for over 25 years including service as an Assistant Attorney General – Tax and as a state revenue commissioner.  In 2007, Brian joined a small boutique litigation firm, where he and his partners encountered several cases in which hundreds of thousands of documents needed to be reviewed prior to trial, and often on short notice. In one criminal case the government turned over approximately 10,000,000 documents, most of it in non-text searchable format.

Existing litigation support vendors can digitally change formats and create searchable databases but trained legal eyes still needed to review the documents.  Fancy computer search programs are no substitute for careful review by a paralegal or attorney trained in a particular field.

Over time, Mahany began to assemble a group of talented lawyers, former federal agents and paralegals available to provide discovery review and other litigation support tasks on short notice.

Because of the recent layoffs in these economically troubled times of many talented lawyers, Discovery Masters is able to supply a variety of lawyers and paralegals trained in many different areas of law.
